9 + 2
The "9" represent cities that are bounded by the pearl river within the province of Guangdong. And the other "2'" cities are the special administrative regions, Macau (East) and Hong Kong (West). “The twin forces of change in these areas are the Urban development and the Mass transit Railway” which are being introduced in the city of Macau also. The ride was more bumpy than usual because they were built more quickly than usual, in other to accommodate for the fast growing tourist areas around.
After sleeping over at Macau the previous night, we crossed the river into Zhuhai, went through immigration again and took a road trip from Zhuhai to Guangzhou. And along the way we stopped at Kai Ping Village, majianglong village cluster, had lunch at a local village and just watched the scenery of the entire region along the pearl river.
Gas Stations
Usually when travelling on the highway there are stops for gas stations but on this road trip I didn’t really see any.
Driving along the express way from zhuhai to Guangzhou, I've noticed that along the road side one can see that the different cities bounded by this river are changing drastically from very rural settings to more urbanized areas - and this is all happening within 20 years.
The high rise residential buildings, and factories are beginning to slot themselves more and more on the site mixed with farming.

Pearl river Pollution
The issue about the pearl river pollution, brought by major manufacturers from the factories in Hong Kong, made me wonder how much the food might be polluted if most of the farmers depend on the water from this river. If this is an issue, with the fast growing 'urbanization' of the cities, farmlands would disappear faster.
If they do, their might be a great problem with massive food production in the nearest future.

The Majianglong Village Cluster
Stepped into this very serene, flatland village 'cluster' on the eastern coast of Tanjiang River. It is well known for its good harvest every year.
The villages are surrounded by the dragon fruit trees, hidden street lamps with 30ft spacing, old bungalows and chickens in the compounds - which are merely separated from each other.
Looks very quiet now that a large number of the villagers emigrated to United States, canada, mexico and Australia.

Kai Ping Village
The Guangzhou circle
We finally got into Guangzhou later that evening and visited the Guangzhou circle, which looked like a huge donut. This building house the Guangdong Plastic Exchange, which happens to be the world's largest raw plastic trading center. This building also houses a hotel and several office spaces.
"Don't Call it a Donut"
Construction: Both towers on the left and right were built independently upwards, then curved at the top. The middle opening inspired by the chines 'Feng Shui'.
